Plusses and Minuses
The Editor's Two-Cents Worth
The results were released recently of a national survey on the
attitudes of Plus Size shoppers. For the mostpart, there were
no surprises here. Plus Size women have a harder time finding
their sizes in styles they like than non-Plus Size women. The
clothes they do find seldom flatter them. The colors are usually
boring, predictable, and unsophisticated. In spite of all this
disappointment, Plus Size women still enjoy shopping more than
their smaller sized counterparts. That tracks with Adini's experience,
too. Our most enthusiastic customers are our Plus Size ones!
For Adini En Plus, the most enlightening information from this
survey was the criteria used to define Plus Size. Size 12 and up! That's about a Medium in Adini's Missy line, though we must confess
we're known for our generous sizing. In any case, we got to thinking. If 12 and up is Plus Size, and 10 is the Industry Standard, what
does that make sizes 0 thru 8? Seems to us they must be Minus Size.
So from now on, all you Big Beautiful Women out there, when you
think of yourself as Plus Size, remember that all those thin women
on the other side of the "standard" have to be Minuses. If that
